Here's what you can expect when you schedule a custom jewelry consultation with us.
Step 1: We'll Get to Know Your Vision
Your consultation is where your ideas begin to take shape. We can meet with you in person at our Seattle studio or over a video call if that's more convenient.
Many of our clients come to us during major life moments like getting engaged, celebrating an anniversary, graduating, retiring, welcoming a new family member, or honoring the memory of a loved one by transforming heirloom jewelry into something new.
During the consultation, we'll talk about your style, your inspiration, and what you hope your finished piece will mean to you.
If you have them, it's helpful to bring:
Jewelry you already love wearing
Inspiration photos
Family heirlooms or sentimental jewelry
Loose diamonds or colored gemstones you'd like to incorporate
Gold you'd like to recycle into your new piece
And if you don't know exactly what you want yet, that's perfectly okay. Many of our favorite projects start with nothing more than a blurry photo of a grandparent’s ring. We'll ask plenty of questions to help uncover a design that feels like you.
Step 2: We Design Your Piece
After your consultation, we'll begin developing your design.
Depending on the project, we'll create either a hand-drawn sketch or a digital rendering to illustrate the piece. At the same time, we'll calculate the cost based on the design, materials, and labor involved.
We'll send you both the design and the quote for review. It's common for this stage to involve a few revisions as we refine the details together. Our goal is to make sure every element feels just right before moving forward.

Step 3: We Bring Your Jewelry to Life
Once you've approved the design, we'll collect a deposit and begin fabrication.
Every custom piece is made differently depending on the design. Your project may involve techniques such as:
Hand carving wax models
CAD design and 3D printing
Casting in recycled gold
Hand fabrication from sheet and wire
Modifying existing jewelry
Stone setting
Hand engraving
Polishing and finishing

When your piece is complete, we'll contact you to schedule pickup.

Most custom projects take approximately 4–8 weeks to complete. The timeline depends on the complexity of the design, the fabrication techniques involved, and our current production schedule. Handmade jewelry takes time, but we believe creating something meaningful is always worth the wait.
