Every Piece Has a Story. This Is Ours.

At Seattle Jewelry Design and Repair, our mission is simple:
To preserve and celebrate your stories through jewelry and to forge new ones through exceptional craftsmanship, custom design, and honest, efficient repairs. All done locally, thoughtfully, and by hand in Seattle.

Craftsmanship with Care

Every repair and design is done by hand, with precision and pride. Each piece is treated like it has a story, because it does.

Locally Rooted, Personally Handled

Everything stays in Seattle. No outsourcing, no big-shop bureaucracy. Just one trusted expert, doing the work from start to finish.

Sustainable Sentimentality

Whether it’s restoring a family heirloom or creating a new keepsake, this is a business built on honoring jewelry’s meaning, and making it last.

Jeweler, Designer, Storyteller

Meet Nina.

Nina Raizel Hartman has been working at the bench for over a decade, sawing, soldering, setting, and restoring jewelry with care, creativity, and serious skill. She opened her boutique studio in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood in 2014, and in 2024, launched Seattle Jewelry Design & Repair to focus on what she loves most: giving well-loved pieces a second life.

Her journey into jewelry started back in high school, sparked by a fascination with gemstones and precious metals. That spark led her to formal studies at Pratt Institute and RISD, and then to hands-on apprenticeships with some of Seattle’s most respected jewelers, including Blue Nile, Greenlake Jewelry, Crane Jewelers, Valerie Madison, and Micki Lippe.

Over the years, Nina’s developed a reputation for her attention to detail, precision work, and ability to fix what others can’t. Whether it’s resizing a ring, restoring a family heirloom, or creating a custom engagement piece from scratch, she brings a mix of technical expertise and heartfelt artistry to everything she does.

As a designer, Nina is passionate about sustainability, working with recycled metals and sourcing ethical gemstones whenever possible. As a member of the Seattle Metals Guild, she also shares her knowledge through workshops and mentorships, helping the next generation of jewelers grow in their craft.

When she’s not at the bench, you’ll probably find Nina biking around the city, skiing in the mountains, or catching live music at a local bar. Her creativity is constantly fueled by the people and places she loves, and it shows in every piece she touches..
